From Western Horseman:

Western Horseman MagazineOnly the qualified few ever get to the American Horse Shows Association's Hunter Seat Equitation National Medal FInals. It's the one big moment-in-time for over 200 of the nation's finest young hunt-seat riders.

This video takes you there. Viewers will learn about the process that leads up to the event, see behind the scenes preparation, and experience the actual competition.

You will see the finals through the eyes of one of the judges, Cynthia Hankins. Hankins, who won the event in 1975 and is now a recognized hunter-jumper trainer in Florida, provides her insights into the course design, and the way the course was actually ridden by the contestants. Her commentary covers lines, angles, tracks, what worked on course, and what didn't.

Viewers see common mistakes and learn how to avoid them. This 45-minute tape, which has great picture and sound, is really a riding lesson, using the country's highest level of hunt-seat competition as an example.
